WHO    ARE    IGNUG?

IGNUG    comprises    of    the    elite    musical    crusaders    Ruby    Renaissance,    Tom    Budiansky,    Mingo    Starr,    Project    251    and    Ace    Connor.   

The    band    met    in    2006    and    started    recording    their    first    songs    in    an    apartment    above    a    brothel    in    the    Red    Light    district    of    Copenhagen,    Denmark.    Prostitutes    and    drug    addicts    lay    on    the    door    step    of    their    home    studio    in    the    mornings,    and    drunks    littered    the    streets    throughout    the    long    nights.    Amidst    the    chaos    and    debauchery    of    their    living    arrangements,    IGNUG    focused    their    energies    into    channelling    positivity    into    their    music    to    contrast    their    external    world.    They    did    however    utilise    the    raw    sexual    energy    that    surrounded    them    and    fused    this    with    dirty    beats    and    gritty    bass    riffs    to    encapsulate    the    reality    of    the    seedy    surroundings    in    which    they    lived.    IGNUG    songs    tell    stories    born    out    of    a    chaotic    lifestyle.    Ruby’s    incredible    range    punches    out    allegorical    lyrics    on    some    tracks    and    in    others    he    adopts    a    high    pitched    slow    gritty    nature    to    his    voice    that    surreptitiously    ensnares    your    mind    and    body    to    draw    you    into    the    story    his    lyrics    unfold.    Songs    such    as    Trail    Of    Thought    and    The    Power    Of    Truth    possess    truly    fantastical    qualities    and    other    songs    like    Tell    Me    That    You    Love    Me    have    such    finger    licking    passion    you    can’t    help    but    become    lost    in    them,    leaving    the    mundane    routine    of    the    real    world    behind.     Just    as    you    feel    safe    inside    a    live    set,    Project    251’s    beats    twist    and    turn    you    onto    a    different    path    and    Tom    Budiansky    adds    a    melodic    level    of    weight    to    proceedings    on    both    keys    and    guitar.    All    of    these    are    kept    to    a    high    level    of    professionalism    and    perfection    by    the    immensely    talented    drum    skills    of    Mingo    Starr    and    once    Ace    Connor    adds    his    inimitable    production    skills    to    the    entire    package    the    sound    is    nothing    sort    of    extraordinary.    IGNUG    write    songs    about    love,    pursuit    of    one’s    dreams,    shaking    off    the    shackles    of    the    norm    and    embracing    the    passion    of    the    unknown.    Won’t    you    join    them?    

IGNUG    -   THE    LIVE    EXPERIENCE

IGNUG    know    how    to    work    a    crowd    and    transpose    the    energy    from    the    front    row    of    their    shows    right    the    way    to    the    back    of    the    room.    Performing    impassioned    sets    with    a    professional    calm    ability    and    utilising    a    reserve    of    strength,    this    band    cannot    be    tested.    IGNUG    fuse    synthesisers    with    raw    funky    vocals,    hard    kick    drums    with    trippy    hints    from    hip-hop,    live    beat-production    with    geek-chic    technological    creativity.    Think    N.E.R.D    wielding    surf    guitars    and    the    sensual    electronic    vibes    of    early    Prince.    With    an    accessible    and    catchy    sound    spanning    the    genres    of    electro,    r’n’b,    soul,    dance,    hip    hop    and    disco    there    is    something    for    everyone    at    an    IGNUG    show,    and    WHAT    a    show    it    is!   

IGNUG    -    THE    AUDIO    REVOLUTION

In    2008    IGNUG    decided    to    move    to    the    UK    to    draw    upon    fresh    inspiration    for    their    debut    album    and    to    unleash    their    infectious    new    sound    upon    the    British    live    scene.    Most    of    the    tracks    have    been    recorded    at    their    home    studio    in    Shoreditch.    The    recordings    have    been    finished    at    the    notorious    Castle    pub    by    Aldgate    East.    Production    and    mixes    are    continuously    done    at    the    Dairy    Studios    in    Brixton,    South    London    by    up    and    coming    Ace    Connor    (having    previously    worked    on    productions    for    Lady    GaGa,    Mary    J    Blige,    Muse    and    Tommy    Sparks    to    mention    a    few)    the    sound    is    raw,    fresh    and    speaks    to    the    new    youth    generation.   

IGNUG    can    be    categorised    as    LOVE,    CHAOS    and    FANTASY.    All    the    music    is    written,    composed,    produced    and    performed    by    IGNUG.
